This song was inspired by some of my favorite music clubs around the country. It's about being grateful to have a place to go for music and community. I recorded it with John Epperly at Metropolitan Sounds right down the street from Skinny Dennis in Williamsburg.

Right now is the right time to take in the nighttime,
A good way to feel good, a good way to feel
The clouds have all shifted, the fog, it has lifted
And the days can’t cover up what the nights will reveal

So as long as the task isn’t too demanding
Why don't we see what it’s about
And if there’s some kind of misunderstanding
I’m sure there’s some way we can work something out

And in the meantime I know there’s a place I can go
To set my mind at ease ‘til I’m feeling good

It's true I’m a slave to my master’s song
but I do love the way that she sings
