Recorded over a weekend in Willie Nelson's Luck, TX in August, 2008 by Austin producer/engineer Matt Hubbard, "Crazy Days" is Stein's independently-produced debut album. Featuring live set staples "One and the Same," "High Times on Keap St.," and "Strange Sense of Humor" as well as the acoustic title track, the album earned high praise from the Austin American-Statesman, the Dallas Morning News, and the Houston Chronicle, which described Stein as a "Rising Talent to Watch."
